F1 2026 Season Finale: What We Know About Abu Dhabi and Qatar

The end of the 2026 Formula 1 season has been shaped by questions over the Gulf races. Here is where things stood in the latest reports we found.

The reported schedule

In late August, Formula 1 was reported to have confirmed that the season would end at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi from 3 to 6 December, with the Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail from 27 to 29 November beforehand. The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian rounds had earlier been moved from their April slots because of regional security concerns, and Bahrain's race was later reported to be relocated to Malaysia's Sepang circuit.

Why it stayed unclear

Contingency plans were reported, with Imola in Italy named as a possible replacement if the finale could not go ahead. A September report also pointed to a financial standoff between Formula One Management and the Gulf promoters over hosting fees, which are estimated at tens of millions of dollars per race each year.

What to do

Reports differ on timing, so fans planning travel should check Formula 1's official channels and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix website for the latest confirmation before booking.
